This blog is about musings from the nest of Mother Hen.
That’s me, Mother Hen. I’m married to Rooster Dude. We have been chasing each other around the barnyard for 22 years! Our barnyard is deep in the Heart of Texas, under the Hackberry tree. We have two offspring:
Swanson, (he picked the name) our son turned 18 in July. He just graduated from high school and is now a junior in college. That’s right folks, a JUNIOR in college! Swanson graduated from high school with 49 college credit hours under his wing, and he earned more this summer. He has been and is currently attending UTSA.
Chicklette, our daughter turned 15 in June, and is a sophomore in high school. She rocks at softball! Chicklette is also following in her brother’s footsteps towards earning college credit hours while still in high school. This is thanks to an awesome program that is going on around the country called Early College High School.
Swanson’s Early College High School graduating class was actually the first in Texas, which is very exciting. There are many foundations involved in the Early College High School program, the most notable being the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
I want my blog to be an encouragement to those who stop by for a visit.
Mother Hen…
It was so good to talk with you. I think of you often. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourself, Rooster Dude, Swanson and Chicklette.
Let me hear from you,
Measuring Girl
Good to hear early strong education paying Texan students will advance those who work. Please connect Gates with Washington Foundation in Montana. Those people have the heart beating for stronger young people to lead this country in the future!
Thanks for all you share in papercrafting creative living lives across this globe.
Keep Looking UP!
